Blanket
Here's a picture of the blanket:
Anyway, about halfway there!!!! (:
WIP Wednesday
Yay! I'm doing too many projects! Again! XD
I ate the yummy chocolate and worked 13 rows of Mom's Socks, before we started school. Here's the cuff:
To be honest, the pooling of the colour looks like a drunk painted it, but who cares, they're knit with love and have a hug in every stitch. (:
Now I'm going to have to have Mom hide the pattern, so I can focus on L&L's blanket, which I actually NEED to get done. As soon as I finish this ball of yarn, I'll be about halfway there. So... no, this is not going to be done in 3 weeks, L&L. About 4 would be close.
I don't have a picture yet, I'll get Zach to help me take one later... (:

Besides these projects, I have 13 1/2 Christmas ornaments to make (by Christmas), Zach's Christmas gift (he's the only one getting one, and he knows what it is), and later I have to start a cardigan for Betsey, legwarmers/socks for me, plus about 15 things that are on my queue on Ravelry. Oy vey. Plus, I have about 30 favourites on Ravelry that I plan to knit in the future..
Siblings: Just saying, if you buy the yarn that is on my Christmas list, then I can finish most of these projects. Also, if you buy the needles, I can finish a sweater that is waiting for me to frog it and re-knit it. And, if you buy the roving and drop spindle, I can... um... have even more stuff to do, besides all my knitting projects...
Oh, and I have one crocheting project that will likely be ripped out and turned into dishclothes. I hate it.
The cuff of Mother's Socks, and a cup of hot chocolate overloaded with caramel flavouring.
Yum! I put in too much chocolate, for the size of the cup, but shhh, don't tell anyone.

Pyromaniac
So, me being me, I read a book by the name of The Knitter's Book of Yarn, by Clara Parkes. In this book in mentioned that wool, when lit with fire, extinguishes itself. I thought to myself, "Why don't we test this theory?" Of course, I had no wool yarn at that point in time, so I was unable to do a mini science experiment.
Until a few days ago, that is. I got a box full of free yarn from one of Emily's in-laws. In it was a skein of felting wool. It was dyed, so I wasn't sure how well it would work. Here's a video of me burning a piece of the yarn. (Not the whole skein).

KNITTING! WHEEEEEEE!
So, I am back again, this time with tidings of my WIPs. (Work In Progress)
Firstly, the blanket I promised my SIL. It seems I might have to go back to Joann's to fetch more yarn, but I hope not. I haven't finished the first skein yet, so I can't really be sure.
In its original form:
Then, LEGWARMERS!:
The first time I cast on for these, I didn't cast on enough stitches. The second, too many, it was HUGE. Now I'm going to try again, this time I hope against hope it will be right. If not, I'm keeping it the way it is, because I don't really have any choice. The stitch pattern is over a multiple of 15 stitches, so I can't do anything but 60 (too small), 90 (too big), or 75 (who knows...).

Okay, okay, fine, the MATERIALS for legwarmers.
So, those are my WIPs, and one FO (finished object, which is the baby blanket). Also, I'd like to say how BE-EAU-TI-FUL the gray yarn is. It is 75% merino wool, and 25% nylon. If the nylon were not in there, I couldn't even imagine the heavenly-ness of this yarn. It. Is. Delish. Us. I love it!
Oh, and, my first cable!
Oh, and, my first cable!
It's called a plait cable, and it is actually a bright-ish purple, don't let it deceive you
